Education should promote student success and feelings of satisfaction. Education should prepare students for productive, responsible lives.
School personnel should provide students with an atmosphere conducive to learning. It should be pleasant, stimulating, and both physically and emotionally safe. It has been my experience that such an atmosphere can be maintained if fair expectations are established, expectations are consistently upheld, cooperation is encouraged, and students are treated with equality and respect.
I strongly believe that it is the school’s obligation to help each student move forward academically. I believe all students can learn. I know that students learn in different ways: therefore it is our responsibility to master and provide a variety of teaching methods so every student will be successful.
I believe that my staff and I can have a great impact on students’ moral and social development. We should encourage and model respect, honesty, and a sense of responsibility.
Finally, all educators should model a love of learning, creativity, and discovery. They should sincerely hope for their students to succeed. They must be able to look forward with anticipation to their students surpassing them.
