Escalante Valley Elementary PTA

2010-2011 School Year

President – Stacie Reber 439-5366 * President Elect – Kerri Finlinson 864-8819

Secretary – Ashley Christensen 439-5222 * Treasurer – Jessica Jimenez 691-1948

As a Presidency we are excited for the upcoming school year. As we met to discuss what was

expected of us for the year, we were all surprised to find out exactly how many activities the PTA

raises money for. We thought it would be great to inform all parents exactly where the money

from membership fees, donations and fundraisers goes.

WHAT PTA PAYS FOR

Kindergarten Snacks

Red Ribbon Week

Tickets for Field Trips

Maturation Program

Field Day

6th Grade Bowling

Teacher Appreciation

End of School Swimming Trip

Dog Tags and Chains for Reading

Halloween Carnival

Refreshments for Christmas Program

PTA funds originate from Membership Fees, fundraisers and donations. In years past our

membership numbers have been very low. We are hoping to increase membership numbers for

the 2010‐2011 School Year. The only required duty of a member is to attend one of the two

annual PTA Meetings at the school. Any Volunteers or Donations are greatly needed and

appreciated. Please let us know if you would be willing to help. We are trying to come up with a

few new, fresh fundraising ideas. Here are some ideas we have come up with. We would love to

have any and all feedback…..

#1‐ SCHOOL PRIDE RUBBER BRACELETSBracelets

will be available for purchase for $3.50. Students are encouraged to wear them with

“Mustang Pride” every Friday and will receive a prize.

#2 ‐ COOKBOOKS

We would love to compile a school Cookbook. We believe that it has been years since the school

has published one. We are hoping it will turn out to be a big success!

#3‐ Halloween Carnival –

Please let us know if you would like to see the Halloween Carnival again or if you would be open

to a Fall Festival instead.

#4 – Granny B’s Cookie Dough & Little Caesars Pizza Kits

#5‐ SCHOOL YEARBOOKS

We are looking at having books printed through blurb.com. The books would be 7x7 and no more

than 40 pages, Full Color. We are looking at keeping costs lower than $20.00 a book

The new school year is about to start!

Mr. Thomas has been working hard all summer to make sure our school is sparkling clean and ready for returning students. The Teachers are getting their lesson plans ready and lining up the desks. Mrs. Judd is getting the kitchen ready to provide nutritious meals for the students. Mrs. Haught is adding new books to the library for students to check out.

Mrs. Robinson has been planning  Back to School Night, she is looking forward to seeing all the students and their parents on August 17th at 6:00 in the school gym.

We will start off the new school year on August 19th. Click here for tips on preparing your children to return to school.

Kirsten Hale, Jessica Jimenez, and their committee members did a great job this year.  The school appreciates their work on fundraisers, book fairs, the Halloween Carnival, and plans for the end of year.  The PTA is a great support that provides additional funding for things not covered by the school budget such as tickets to arts programs, field day ribbons and treats, classroom libraries, swim trips etc.

We are excited to introduce next years PTA board:

                        President: Stacie Reber

                        President Elect: Karri Finlinson

                        Secretary: Ashley Christensen

                        Treasurer: Jessica Jimenez

If you are interested in being on a committee or helping out in anyway next year,

I’m sure they would love to hear from you.
