Art, Geometry and Empathy!

E-mail Print PDF
Our Third Grade class has just finished a language and visual art activity on action verbs.  Using a basic body pattern, each student created an action with their figure and chose an action verb to describe it.  Come look at our bulletin board and try to guess what action verb each picture describes.

We have been making more patterns and discovering new geometry terms, too.  Ask your student what a polygon is and if they can give you several examples.  Sometimes it is tricky to remember that an isosceles triangle has two equal sides or that a quadrilateral has four sides.

We are reviewing the song “Empathy” to share with the Iron County School board on Tuesday, February 23rd.  In class we are trying to show more empathy towards each other and be better citizens.
