Principal's Message

     "WE" Building Lifelong Learners.

Mission Statement

Escalante Valley Elementary School strives to be a community of learners in which all members use their minds well and care about one another.  We engage with challenging academics, integrated arts, and the unique resources of our valley in order to become active citizens and responsible stewards of our world.

I can't believe how fast our year has been going.  The end of the year seems to fly by.  I love the spring time.  It is a time when things come back to life.  It gets us excited for summer and there is no better time to breathe in deep than in the spring.  I am also grateful for such hard working staff.  They work so hard during this time of year to make sure each student is taught the demanding curriculum that must be covered by the end of the year.  They truly care about each of their students.

I would also like to share that I had a chance to go to a district meeting where reading data was shared with us.  Our school was at the top in both proficiency and growth.  This is difficult to do.  The state already visited us as one of the top seven schools in the state in this regard this year.  I am proud to work with such dedicated professionals.

Lastly, I would like to thank all in the community for taking the time to raise such great children.  The students are the secret to our success at Escalante Valley Elementary.

Mr. Heaton
